Dozens of cars lined up outside Roma's to support four teenage boys who lost their lives early last week - KXII-TV

DURANT, Okla. (KXII) - For the first time in fifteen years, Roma's Italian Restaurant in Durant opened it's doors on a Monday.

Dozens of cars lined up to pick up $30 lasagna and spaghetti dinners, that were pre-ordered over the weekend.

Local business owners partnered with Roma's for this fundraiser, with plans to donate all of the proceeds to a bank account, created for the four boys' family members.

Organizers said the restaurant sold over 660 meals, purchased that weekend.

They say at one point, cars were backed up for thirteen blocks.

Brady Baskin, one of the organizers said he thinks they'll be able to donate over five thousand dollars to each family.

"My family had a restaurant for 46 years. When you're in the restaurant business in a small town like this, you're really not in the restaurant businesses, you're in the people business." Baskin said.

Another organizer, Jennifer Nelson, said the news was devastating, and hit the community hard.

"All four boys, we have set up an account with First United bank." said Nelson. "We will meet the needs of all four families. To say the least, it hit our community unexpected. All four of the boys went to school with my daughter. She was really close with one of the boys, he was just at our house swimming. So, it really hit our hearts." Nelson said.

The fundraiser was curbside pickup, from 3 to 8 p.m.
